Julia Arnold

Julia Arnold is a financial inclusion expert and independent consultant specializing in research design, customer insights, financial capability, and customer centricity. She has seven years of experience working in financial services at Grameen Foundation, New America Foundation, the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) at Accion, and CGAP.



At Grameen Foundation, Julia worked with the Microsavings team, where she led original research on the barriers and opportunities posed by mobile phones to women’s use of their savings accounts. At CFI, Julia conducted a global landscape analysis of financial capability innovations. This project examined the current financial capability landscape, major products and services being offered, and how technology enables providers and clients to change behavior in order to support client financial well-being.



Julia is currently working on research with CGAP on employee empowerment, and with the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) on gender and financial inclusion and payment structures that enable poor people’s access to energy sources. Julia is also a member of the Learning Partner team for The MasterCard Foundation Symposia on Financial Inclusion.
